When are volunteers needed: Choose 1 school to join from below dates and times:
1 hour per week for 10 sessions
School 1 (Goole Area)- Mondays, 11:00am – 12:00pm, starting 20th April
School 2 (Sherburn Area): Tuesdays, 11:30am – 12:30pm, starting 21st April
School 3 (Selby area) : Wednesdays, 1:15pm – 2:15pm, starting 22nd April

Role description:
What is Skillz2 CIC?
We create positive change through playful, interactive workshops building learning, wellbeing and confidence, offering bespoke skills support for young people. Skillz mentoring supports 11 to 16 year olds through play-based mentoring, workplace visits, career talks while learning through games and mentors.
We’re on a mission to find local people who want to make a positive impact to the lives of local youths!
Through our Group Mentoring Programme, you’ll support young people in secondary schools and help them to build confidence, employability skills, and self-belief needed for the world of work.
All sessions are delivered through fun, practical games and activities, making mentoring engaging for both you and the young people.
Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
Commitment, kindness, active listening, communication, punctual, basic employability skills.
Will there be a DBS check? No
Driving Licence required? No

What will the volunteer gain/benefit from:
- All mentors will gain experience working inside a school with secondary school students aged between 11 and 16.
- Receive mentor training covering safeguarding training, working with young people and mentoring skills.
- Gain an increase in communication skills, confidence, public speaking, team building and problem solving.
- Sense of giving back to the community.
