City of York Council’s Small Grants Fund offers sports clubs an opportunity to expand their activities while promoting community engagement, reducing health disparities, and increasing sports participation, particularly among underrepresented groups.
Each application can receive up to £750 in funding, covering areas such as coach training, financial support for participants, equipment costs, venue hire, and new activity programs. Successful clubs are expected to complete the mental health awareness certificate for that member to become a ‘Mental Health Champion’, responsible for the mental health and wellbeing of the club and its members and submit a development report. Apply during specified annual windows for this chance to enhance your sports club’s impact on the York community.
The second round of grants opened on 4 September and will close on 27 October 2023, with grants to be issued in November 2023.
