Empowering Young Lives: Funding Opportunities for Positive Change

Are you passionate about creating safe and enriching environments for young people in your community? The Department of Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) and The National Lottery Community Fund have joined forces to provide funding for organisations dedicated to supporting the youth in areas where they may be at risk of anti-social behaviour.

What They Fund:

Their mission is to empower young individuals aged 11 to 18, and up to 25 for those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), by providing them with additional resources and opportunities for growth.

They are looking to fund projects that:

  1. Benefit Young People: The primary focus of your project should be young people aged 11 to 18, or up to 25 for those with SEND.
  2. Address Anti-social Behaviour: Your initiative should effectively engage with young people at risk of anti-social behaviour, offering them guidance and support.
  3. Extend Youth Work Hours: Aim to provide extra hours of youth work, enabling young individuals to access positive activities in their community.
  4. Youth Engagement: Show how you involve young people in shaping your project, giving them a voice in its direction and impact.
  5. Accessibility: Deliver youth work that is open and free from barriers to attend, ensuring all young people can participate.
  6. Qualified Supervision: Youth work should be led by trusted adults, including qualified youth workers, youth support workers, or experienced volunteers.

Project Outcomes:

Your project should strive to achieve the following outcomes for young people:

  1. Improved Emotional Wellbeing: Help them build emotional resilience and wellbeing.
  2. Life and Practical Skills: Provide opportunities for learning and developing practical life skills.
  3. Trusted Relationships: Create an environment where young people can establish trusted relationships with adults, fostering a sense of safety and belonging.
