Role description:
The new outdoor athletics season is fast approaching and the City of York Athletic Club are desperately seeking officials especially time keepers but also starters, photo finish, track and field judges. There are lots of competitions from those involving top athletes - the club competes in the National League - through to our juniors taking their first strides in the sport. We are very proud of our disability team too. These competitions can't happen without officials. In many competitions, our officials even earn points for the team too! If you fancy being at the heart of top sporting action and helping to start, time, measure, and judge some fantastic sporting achievements in the sun (actually, its not always sunny!) at a fantastic modern venue (it is that) then this really is for you.

Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
Eye for detail, ability to follow instructions and apply rules. Good communicator, especially verbal skills to communicate with athletes, other officials. Technical, IT skills for the photo finish. An admirer of great human achievement and a love of sport helps whether or not that is in athletics. People who enjoy football, rugby, cricket - any sport at all - are very welcome and fit in here as our people love all sports too. Athletics is a sport, full of different sports!
