Role description:
Volunteer Pioneer – North Yorkshire
Could you help bring the gift of reading to adults across North Yorkshire?
Read Easy is looking for a volunteer Pioneer to help establish a new Read Easy group in North Yorkshire. Read Easy provides free, confidential, one-to-one reading coaching for adults who would like support to improve their reading skills. Through the support of trained volunteers, readers gain confidence, independence and new opportunities in life.
As a Pioneer, you will work with support from a dedicated Regional Adviser to raise awareness of Read Easy across North Yorkshire, connect with local organisations and community groups, recruit volunteers and help establish a local management team. You will play a key role in bringing this life-changing service to adults who would otherwise struggle to access support.
You don't need previous experience in literacy education. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised and passionate about making a difference in their community. You will enjoy building relationships, engaging with people from all walks of life and inspiring others to get involved.
Read Easy UK provides training, guidance, resources and ongoing support throughout the process, so you will never be expected to do it alone.
This is a unique opportunity to create a lasting legacy in North Yorkshire, helping adults transform their lives through reading while building a network of dedicated local volunteers.
