Role description:
We are a member-led charity that brings creativity and purpose to the lives of adults with learning disabilities and assist them on their mental health journeys.
We support individuals on both a short-term and long-term basis, helping them build confidence, connection, and a sense of purpose.
As a Volunteer Musician, you will bring joy, connection, and meaningful engagement to our members through live music. Your sessions will help foster a sense of community while supporting emotional and mental wellbeing.
• Lead musical activities and encourage active participation.
• Support members to develop their musical skills and confidence.
• Create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere during each session.
• Adapt performances to the preferences and needs of the people we support.
Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
• Communicates well, with strong listening skills and empathy.
• Has proficiency in at least one musical instrument or in singing.
• Has a warm, friendly, and compassionate approach.
• Shows patience and adaptability when engaging with people of different abilities and preferences.
• Has a genuine interest in supporting the wellbeing of the people we work with.
