When are volunteers needed: The gardening volunteer is flexible and would be required for approx. 2-4 hours per week. Monday to Friday. Between 9:00 – 16:00. All equipment provided

Role description:
We are a member-led charity that brings creativity and purpose to the lives of adults with learning disabilities and assist them on their mental health journeys.
We support individuals on both a short-term and long-term basis, helping them build confidence, connection, and a sense of purpose.
The Green Space Volunteer will work alongside mentors and members and help to develop and maintain our green space and improve the appearance and use of the members’ garden.
• Work to enhance the garden environment
• Attending the 'fruit and veg' area with the members to use in their cooking groups
• Carrying out some general garden maintenance, including weeding and strimming, to help keep the space tidy and welcoming
Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
• Have an interest in how connecting with nature can support wellbeing
• Communicate well, including through active listening and empathy
• Can build positive relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds
