When are volunteers needed: When am I needed?
Our van service runs Monday to Saturday, from 8:45am to 4:45pm.
We're looking for volunteers to support the full duration of each shift. Shifts are assigned on a flexible, ad hoc basis to suit your availability, and opportunities are regularly available throughout the month.

Role description:
Our Volunteer Driver’s Assistant role provides a key service to our Retail Team, ensuring smooth running of the Retail logistics service and raising vital funds for St Leonard’s Hospice through its collection service and stock movement system.
What will I be doing?
- Assisting the driver to fulfil their day-to-day duties
- Lifting and moving furniture and donated goods
- Packing and loading/ unloading the van
- Delivery of goods to customers
- Remove and safely dispose of waste material
- Assisting the driver with vehicle safety checks
Please note this is a physically active role with a significant amount of manual handling, including moving shop stock items, heavy donation bags, and light pieces of furniture. You will not be required to drive any Hospice vehicles.
