Role description:
Safely transport clients to and from pre-arranged destinations.
Assist passengers with entering and exiting the vehicle where appropriate, while maintaining their dignity and independence.
Ensure seatbelts are worn and passengers travel safely.
Maintain a courteous, respectful, and professional manner at all times.
Follow agreed schedules and notify EDCCA of any delays or issues.
Complete journey logs and any required paperwork accurately.
Carry out basic vehicle safety checks before journeys and report any faults promptly.
Maintain client confidentiality and comply with data protection requirements.
Adhere to EDCCA's safeguarding, health and safety, and volunteer policies.
Report any concerns relating to client wellbeing or safety to the appropriate EDCCA staff member.
Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
Full, valid driving licence.
Confident and safe driving record.
Willingness to undergo appropriate background checks (where required).
Commitment to EDCCA's values and policies.
Ability to use a mobile phone for communication during volunteering.
