Caretaker at St Edward’s Church Dringhouses- Key roles and responsibilities.
• Cleaning
• Basic repairs and maintenance
• Set up and pack down of groups
• Liaising with contractors
• Fire Alarm Keyholder and organize Fire Checks
• Present at Premises Committee
The Real Living Wage will be paid.
Cleaning e.g.
Each day cleaning toilets
Alternate days cleaning Church side and Community Hally side of premises, with a deeper clean annually
Check toilets before finishing each day
Window Cleaning
Basic repairs and maintenance e.g.
Basic electrical work including Portable Appliance Testing
Basic maintenance of buildings
Painting and decorating where possible
(These jobs may entail occasional work on ladders)
Set up and pack down of groups- please note that this can entail some physically demanding work
See weekly timetable to ensure that set up happens for each group
Liaising with contractors
To be in contact with contractors to book in times for work
To meet with contractors when they are doing work
To follow up on any contractor visits
Fire Alarm Keyholder and organize Fire Checks
To be one of the Fire Alarm Keyholders responding to any call-outs
To organize the checking of Fire Safety equipment annually
Present at Premises Committee once every two months
