We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Fundraising Officer to join our small, friendly team supporting deaf children, young people and their families across York and North Yorkshire. This is a remote role with regular online collaboration and a monthly in-person team meet-up.

Role Purpose
The Fundraising Officer will be responsible for developing and delivering fundraising activity across grant funding, community fundraising, individual giving and supporter stewardship. The postholder will contribute to sustainable income generation to support the charity’s programmes.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify suitable grant-making organisations and prepare high-quality applications for small and large grants
• Produce accurate and timely end-of-grant reports
• Develop community fundraising initiatives and steward supporters
• Maintain accurate records of fundraising activity
• Work collaboratively with the CEO and programme staff to identify opportunities
• Represent the organisation professionally in all external communications
• Attendance at some activities as necessary (approx. 1 per term)
Person Specification
Essential:
• Proven experience of successful grant writing
• Ability to produce clear, persuasive written applications
• Experience preparing end-of-grant reports
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Commitment to inclusion and supporting deaf children and families
Desirable:
• Experience in community fundraising
• Knowledge of fundraising compliance and best practice
• Experience of deafness

Salary: £12,588 gross | Job type: Part time | Hours: 18 hours per week. Term time only
