Role description:
We offer a huge range of volunteering opportunities at Brunswick Organic Nursery with something to suit everyone. You could help with our Woodworking group in our beautiful walled garden, support people working in the Community and Events teams to promote our charity, join our cooking group, work on gardening and horticulture projects or help out in our busy shop. There is always something interesting happening at Brunswick and we are a warm and supportive community, welcoming people of all ages and abilities.
Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
We would like people who are able to work calmly and are open to learning how to support people with a wide range of different abilities.
For practical volunteering roles such as Woodworking, a sensible approach to health and safety is appreciated and an understanding that we may have different methods than you are used to, to ensure everyone is able to work at their own pace.
Within Community and Events groups and all roles, we just ask for patience, willingness to learn and good attention to detail. As much as possible we are supporting our workers to do the major part of production, even if working as a team with the staff or volunteer.
Everyone receives a Brunswick volunteer induction, including a tour of the site, an introduction to staff, volunteers and workers and a health and safety talk.
