Role description:
Amnesty International UK (AIUK) has a simple aim: an end to human rights abuses. Independent, international and influential, we campaign for justice, fairness, freedom and truth wherever they are denied. Joining us as a Bookshop volunteer is a great way to support Amnesty and be involved in the exciting work that the bookshops do.


About the role

There are plenty of different tasks and roles, from serving customers, sorting donations, creating displays, collecting donations, writing social media posts, managing online listings or even organising events. Hopefully something for everyone.

Volunteering can be a fun way to gain new skills, meet people or just spend time with thousands of books! We offer full training; all you need is enthusiasm and commitment.

First and foremost, we offer our volunteers a friendly, comfortable way to make a practical impact by helping us to raise funds and visibility for Amnesty International UK's important human rights work.

Our shop is embedded in the community and we pride ourselves in curating a friendly welcoming space. Our regular, short shifts are ideal whether you are a student, a retiree, or looking for something to do in-between or in addition to employment. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to meet new people and engage with events and build connections to your co-volunteers and community.

We also provide invaluable work experience for those looking to enhance their CV, and can potentially provide a reference for future opportunities. We will happily work with volunteers looking to build their CV to maximise the number and variety of skills they gain with us.
