Role description:
Fairfax House is one of England’s finest Georgian townhouses and a much loved heritage attraction in the heart of York. We are looking for a practical, hands on volunteer to support the museum with small maintenance and DIY tasks that help keep the building safe, welcoming, and looking its best.
Tasks may include:
• Light painting and paint touch ups
• Securing screws or fittings on shutters and fixtures
• Minor repairs and general upkeep
• Occasional small DIY jobs as needed around the museum
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, has good attention to detail, and would like to support the preservation of a historic building. The museum will cover the cost of tools, materials, and supplies needed for the tasks.
