Role description:
Do you have some time and experience to give to York’s pressure group for promoting walking and improving the infrastructure for walkers and wheelchair users? We work entirely on a volunteer basis for better design and maintenance of pavements and footpaths and to encourage more people to make more shorter journeys on foot.
We are look for someone to help us communicate better with our supporters. You can help us by managing some or all of these tasks:
• Managing incoming email messages in Outlook (5-10 per day)
• Communicating with the convenor(s), treasurer and other officers and supporters
• Sending out our (pre-edited) newsletter (4-6 per year)
• Attending 4-6 online meetings per year and our in-person AGM
• Taking brief minutes of meetings in Word
• Booking venues and facilities (once or twice a year)
Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
You will ideally have:
• Good administrative skills
• IT experience (MS Office, Outlook)
• A collaborative approach to working
• Knowledge of York and its diverse communities
• Sensitivity to the value of mobility and walking for a healthy, inclusive and sustainable city
