When are volunteers needed: Meetings and time commitment Board meetings are held at least four times a year. Meetings take place at the Priory Street Centre and are usually held on Wednesdays from 5.30- 7.30pm. Trustees are invited to attend our AGM in November or December and we also aim to have one or two evening trustees’ development sessions per year. In addition, some trustees work with individual CVS staff, connecting them with people and issues, providing advice and guidance, and chairing or facilitating working sessions. Five trustees also serve on our Resources Committee, which reports to the Board.

Role description:
We’re looking for new trustees to help us achieve our ambitions!
We have an exciting opportunity to join our board. Our trustees play an essential governance role determining our focus and strategic direction, as well as checking that our strategic aims are achieved.
Two current trustees will stand down at the AGM in November, after completing their maximum terms of office.
We have a vacancy for someone who currently works for a voluntary, community or social enterprise organisation that is a member of York CVS to join the board at our AGM in November. You could be a member of staff, trustee or volunteer.
We also have a vacancy to join the board as a non-member co-opted trustee.
Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
All trustees need good judgement, the ability to think creatively and a willingness to speak their mind.
