Role description:
You will be working with people to help them change the direction of their life, grow as an individual,
and live life to its full potential. As a Recovery Support Volunteer you will be working in
close collaboration with the team, assisting them in their caseload management, supporting the service
user through all aspects of their treatment journey.

This can include completing assessments, supporting people to attend community and inpatient
detoxes, supporting group work and undertaking one-to-one work. You will be an integral team member
and will play an active role in helping our service users achieve their goals. You will receive training and
support and work towards holding a small caseload of low-risk clients. Lots of training opportunities will
be provided.

Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
• Understanding of the issues faced by our client group
• IT literacy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management skills, and an ability to work on own initiative prioritising
accordingly
• Ability to liaise and work in partnership with a wide range of professionals and agencies
• Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality
• Non judgmental approach and a love for people
• We hire attitude and can train skills

Regulated and accredited training will be given around boundaries, harm reduction and drug / alcohol awareness amongst other things with further opportunities for development and training offered once in role.
