Role description:
Do you have some time and experience to give to York’s pressure group for promoting walking and improving the infrastructure for walkers and wheelchair users? We work entirely on a volunteer basis for better design and maintenance of pavements and footpaths and to encourage more people to make more shorter journeys on foot.
We are look for someone to help us market our message to the wider York public. You can help us by managing all or some of these tasks:
• Developing our Living Streets web pages
• Exploring new opportunities for raising awareness of our campaigns and events by making appropriate and effective use of the internet and social media
• Training other volunteers on uploading new material, where possible
• Attending at least 2 of our 4-6 online meetings per year plus our in-person AGM
• Advising on any investment issues in ICT or tech more generally
Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
You will ideally have:
• Applied ICT experience
• A collaborative approach to working
• Some knowledge of York and its diverse communities
• Sensitivity to the value of mobility and walking for a healthy, inclusive, and sustainable city
Will there be a DBS check? No
