Do you know a local group that is making a big difference in their community? Are the volunteers in the driving seat to make positive changes to people’s lives? Do they strive on excellence in everything they do?
If the answer is yes, consider nominating them for the prestigious King’s Award for Voluntary Service. Created in 2002 to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Golden Jubilee and previously known as The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS), the Award has been shining a light on the fantastic work of voluntary groups from all across the UK for many years.
Equivalent to an MBE, KAVS is the highest Award given to local voluntary groups in the UK, and they are awarded for life.
To nominate those fantastic people visit: The King’s Award for Voluntary Service – official website (dcms.gov.uk)
Closing date is 15 September 2023.
We here at York CVS would also love to hear of any news of what those groups, charities or organisations are doing. Please email comms@yorkcvs.org.uk to spread the word.
