The Joseph Rowntree Foundation’s York Committee Community Grants is open for applications to support local voluntary and community groups, which help people in York from being swept further and deeper into poverty.

Through its grant making and ‘Funder Plus’ model, funding of up to £10k is available for either core organisational costs or project specific costs (grants typically average around £5k). The next funding deadline is 2pm on Tuesday 6 December 2022.

Current funding priorities focus on:

  • providing access to high quality advice services, including advice on benefits, debt, housing, and information and advocacy for individuals at risk of being pulled into poverty.
  • community based activities which prevent or reduce social isolation, where poverty is a contributing factor or barrier

The JRF York Committee welcomes and encourages discussions about potential applications. Please contact Helen Watson, Community Grants Support Officer, at helen.watson@jrf.org.uk or on 07736 977061 to find out more about the funding available.
