Generate Plus
Generate, a local organisation supporting trans and non-binary people in York and surrounding areas, is now running a facilitated support group called Generate Plus for the parents, carers and partners of transgender, gender non-conforming and gender questioning people.
This is an in-person session held 7:30pm – 09:30pm every 4th Monday of the month. Specific dates are: 19 December | 23 January | 27 March | 24 April | 22 May | 26 June | 24 July | 21 August | 25 September | 23 October | 27 November | 18 December

Does it feel like your life has been turned upside down? Is the man, or woman, you married disappearing in front of your eyes? Are you the parent/carer, partner, spouse or loved one of someone who is questioning their gender identity, gender non-conforming, trans or non-binary?
Generate Plus is a dedicated facilitated support group that could help. Generate Plus is a non-judgmental safe space to meet with others, share experiences and coping strategies plus much more. This group is invaluable as the family and loved one’s can often be left feeling angry, confused, isolated or embarrassed to name but a few of the intense emotions when a loved one questions or changes their gender.
Few people understand what you are going through despite their best intentions to help. Here at Generate Plus you will be able to share any fears or concerns in a non-judgmental safe space. It is a great space to meet others who understand what it’s like and gain valuable support. Whilst this can be a difficult time for you and your family you may also find hope, a sense of community, and comfort knowing you are not alone in your experience.
*Please note this is a space for the loved one’s who are NOT the one’s transitioning. It doesn’t matter what age your child is, if you are a parent or carer you are welcome.
