Humber and North Yorkshire (HNY) Health and Care Partnership (HCP) are looking for Expressions of Interest (EOI) to deliver a project to scope volunteering practices within Humber and North Yorkshire.
The aim of the project is to gain a deeper understanding of volunteering practices and processes in recruiting, deploying and managing volunteers in health and care. It is also intended to ensure volunteers are valued, recognised for the contribution they make and enabled to access a variety of support and development opportunities.
Open to all organisations, one organisation will be appointed to engage with volunteers and volunteer managers across the HNY HCP system to collate and provide information on the current picture for volunteering within Health and Social Care within HNY.
There is a maximum of £26,000 available to deliver this work – suggested to provide a minimum of 30 days’ work over a 3-month period.
If your organisation is interested in delivering this piece of work, you should provide an overview of how you will use the funding to deliver this work by completing the by 11 January 2023.
Volunteering Scoping Role:
The following provides details on the work expected to be completed as part of this work, however we are keen to hear from interested organisations how they will approach this work and to where you will focus your efforts to give us the greatest depth of information to form future plans on.
System engagement – to work with system leaders and volunteer managers across health and social care to understand the practices and processes in place and how they work. As part of the scoping we will need to understand any challenges or barriers faced to maximising the work with volunteers. In addition, we are interested in finding out what links and networks are currently in place between organisations both within health and other sectors around volunteers.
Volunteer engagement – our ambition is to ensure volunteers are valued and their volunteer journey is simple and straight forwards. Therefore, we need to hear from volunteers and bring their experiences to the forefront when thinking about future plans. Volunteering is crucial in many parts of our system and we would like to hear from a wide range of volunteers in different organisations and roles.
Outputs – at the end of this work the task and finish group would expect to receive a final report of the engagement and findings, including recommendations the system could take forward in future plans. In addition, to aide consistency and promote best practice, the production of a set of volunteer principles that can be adopted system wide, would be required.
Reporting – in addition to the written reporting as above, the task and finish group would expect attendance at the task and finish group meetings and also to present any findings at a relevant HNY Workforce Board meeting.
