Today, 2 February 2023, is Time to Talk Day – a national campaign to encourage everyone to talk and have conversations about mental health. Here at York CVS, we’re passionate about encouraging and supporting conversations around mental health and mental ill-health to take place everyday, in order to help end mental health stigma and discrimination in York and beyond!
York Ending Stigma (YES), are group of York residents, employers, and employees coming together to share, as much or as little of, our mental health experiences through a variety of means to help end mental health stigma and discrimination in York. Our work includes projects on stigmatising language, the use of creativity (poetry, video, photography, blogs, art), radio interviews, and so much more, to change attitudes and beliefs towards people with experience of mental illness.
We know the more conversations we have, the better life is for everyone. Talking about mental health isn’t aways easy, but a conversation has the power to change lives.
