Lollipop is a charity dedicated to providing a nurturing space for children and young people with any degree of D/deafness and their families, along with hearing children of Deaf parents (CODA).
Lollipop approached York CVS for guidance in applying for funding from the National Lottery Fund, and received valuable support from Jane Granville, Funding and Development Officer. The charity’s application to the National Lottery Fund proved successful, securing a substantial grant of £285,340, a truly fantastic outcome.
Their gratitude towards York CVS extended beyond financial triumphs. The charity believes that without the support and guidance, particularly from Jane, they could have faced closure.
In the words of the Lollipop representative, “Thank you all! We are profoundly grateful for the unwavering support and hard work we’ve experienced over the past year. We genuinely wouldn’t be where we are without you.”
Thanks to this support, Lollipop can continue their mission to create a nurturing space and raise community awareness about deafness.
Lollipop hosts events and activities specifically for members of Lollipop and their families. Keep up to date with their work and events on their website: Lollipop – Social support for deaf children (lollipopyork.org.uk) or get in touch info@lollipopyork.org.uk.
