York Recovery Hub moving to an exciting new phase in supporting people in York, in or seeking recovery from substance use disorders.

After testing the idea of ‘York Recovery Hub’ in rooms at the Priory Street Centre, it is now moving to an exciting new phase. City of York Council Public Health team have secured a city-centre building as a longer-term home for the Recovery Hub and have applied for planning permission for its change of use. Subject to planning permission, the new venue will provide a large and flexible space for a wide range of groups and activities in support of people in or seeking recovery from substance use disorders – the Recovery Hub’s time at York CVS has proven this is needed and appreciated in York so it is time to grow!

The Recovery Hub activities will not run from the Priory Street Centre after the end of January 2024. Although there will be a delay while City of York Council make the necessary contract arrangements and await planning permission for change of use, we look forward to this new phase in the Recovery Hub development.

York in Recovery’s recovery cafes will continue across the city as usual (see www.yorkinrecovery.org.uk/recovery-cafe), and please speak to York in Recovery representatives or Changing Lives York Drug and Alcohol Service staff for information about what other groups / sessions will be happening in this transition phase.
