A general election has been called and will take place on Thursday 4 July. Parliament will dissolve on 30 May, and during this period, which is called the ‘wash-up’ period, parties can quickly pass legislations currently going through parliament. But how does this impact voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector activities?
The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) has published a guide to what activities charities could be involved in, and how this impacts campaigning during the pre-election period.
NCVO, in partnership with the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations (ACEVO) has published a Voluntary Sector Manifesto. The manifesto offers a starting point for thinking and planning. It’s informed by voices across the voluntary sector – from leaders at some of England’s biggest charities to small community groups.
