York Environment Festival (YEFest) will return this autumn, taking place from Saturday 27 September 2025, to Sunday 2 November 2025. The festival invites a diverse programme of events exploring this year’s theme: hope through action.
Event proposals are now being welcomed from community groups, voluntary organisations, educators, creatives and individuals. Organisers are looking for a wide range of events celebrating and standing up for the environment.
In response to feedback from previous years, the 2025 festival will run for a longer period, including half term, to help reduce scheduling pressures and allow more flexibility for attendees.
The festival organisers are especially keen to receive proposals for events that engage young people and welcome marginalised communities in York. The aim is to ensure that YEFest25 reflects the experiences and voices of the whole city.
The deadline to submit event proposals is 31 July 2025. Applicants are encouraged to read the updated event guidelines before applying. For more information or questions, organisers can be contacted via info@yorkenvironmentfestival.org.uk.
