City of York Council is partnering with Community First Community Bank (CFCB) to increase awareness and access to credit union services in York.
From 10 June 2025 to 26 August 2025, CFCB will provide weekly face-to-face drop-in sessions at two community hubs:
-
Clements Hall, Nunthorpe Road, YO23 1BW
Tuesdays, 9.15 – 10.45am -
Marjorie Waite Court, Evelyn Crescent, Clifton, YO30 6DX
Tuesdays, 1.00 – 3.00pm
These drop-ins aim to make financial services more accessible.
During the sessions, residents can find out more about a wide range of CFCB services, including:
-
Personal and business loans (including CYC emergency interest-free loans)
-
Various savings options (such as Christmas, Young Savers, and Save Through Your Pay)
-
Budgeting and Prudent Accounts
-
Business and community group services
By offering these services in local community spaces, the pilot makes it easier for people to access affordable financial tools and advice, helping individuals and families manage their money better.
