Living with a life-limiting lung condition such as Pulmonary Fibrosis, COPD, Emphysema or lung cancer can be extremely challenging – not only physically, but emotionally and socially too. To offer connection, support and practical advice, St Leonard’s Hospice has developed a new support group called The Breathing Space.

This group is open to adults with life-limiting respiratory conditions, along with their family members and carers. It has been created to provide both social and practical support, helping reduce isolation and improve wellbeing for all who attend.

What to expect

The Breathing Space will offer a welcoming, understanding environment. Sessions will include:

  • Group discussions

  • Guest speakers

  • Breathwork and gentle movement

When and where

  • Start date: Wednesday 1 October

  • Time: First Wednesday of every month

  • Location: St Leonard’s Hospice (in-person) or online

  • Format: Sessions will alternate monthly between in-person and online. Participants are welcome to join either or both.

  • Please note: If oxygen is required, clients will need to bring their own.
