York Environment Festival is back for its sixth year, with a five-week programme of events, between 27 September and 2 November 2025, showcasing climate and environmental action in York.

There’s something for everyone, with events ranging from sustainability workshops and nature walks to film screenings and arts and crafts. Join us to get involved and connect with others who care about tackling climate change and making our city greener.

All events in the festival are open and free to attend, offering everyone a chance to get involved. The theme this year is ‘hope through action’ . The events in the festival offer a range of ways to take hopeful action, from practical workshops to repair cafes to community meet-ups. There’s something for everyone, whether you want to learn, explore nature, get creative or make new connections.
