A new Cardiovascular Health Insight Report has been published, bringing together extensive insight from Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) partners across Humber and North Yorkshire.

The report captures the experiences of communities facing some of the most significant barriers to cardiovascular health, offering a powerful evidence base to guide future planning and service improvement.

Drawing on engagement with inclusion health groups and communities experiencing wider health inequalities, the report highlights:

  • Key findings from conversations with underserved groups, shedding light on the challenges they face in managing and preventing cardiovascular disease (CVD).
  • What people told us about awareness, prevention, access and communication, and how these factors shape their health outcomes.
  • Practical recommendations to strengthen CVD prevention, improve accessibility of health checks, and enhance person‑centred support.
  • The vital role of VCSE partners in reaching individuals least likely to engage with traditional health services.

This work reflects a strong collaborative effort across the health and care system and demonstrates the value of community‑led insight in shaping targeted, effective cardiovascular health interventions. The findings provide a rich foundation for future service development, partnership working and strategic planning.

Colleagues across the Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care System are encouraged to read and share the report. We welcome further discussion on how to take forward the recommendations and shape the next phase of our CVD prevention work.
