When are volunteers needed: The role ideally involves:
• tasks needing to be completed throughout the week, with flexibility.
• attending some Sharehouse sessions, according to availability
(Session times are: Tuesdays & Fridays 9:15-11am + Wednesdays 5-6pm)

Time commitment is approximately:
- 6–8 hours per week for the full role
- minimum 2 hours per week for a role‑share or partial role.

Role description:
The Deputy Manager supports the smooth and effective running of The Collective Sharehouse, a community food support project. This hands‑on role works alongside the Operations Manager, Session Leaders and wider volunteer team to ensure sessions, volunteers and operations run safely, efficiently and with a welcoming atmosphere. The role can be taken on in full, as a partial role, or as a role share, depending on availability and interest.

Responsibilities include rota planning, volunteer communication, session planning, inbox management, coordinating pop‑up events, maintaining the volunteer database, and supporting operational processes such as SOP updates and liaison with Clements Hall.

Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
No formal qualifications are required.
We’re looking for someone who is:

• Organised and reliable
• A confident communicator, able to respond across the week
• Friendly, approachable and supportive of a wide range of volunteers
• Able to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
• Comfortable with digital tools (email, WhatsApp, Google Docs) or willing to learn
• Collaborative, proactive and willing to take initiative
