About the funding
Connecting Our City is a York-based partnership programme working to improve mental health and wellbeing across the city by bringing together local organisations, services, and communities. At its core is a vision of York as a place where everyone feels valued, connected, and able to shape their community.
The programme aims to ensure people are supported to build on their strengths, help themselves and others, and access support with confidence. It also promotes a mental health system that is flexible, responsive, and built around people’s lives.
York CVS is working in partnership with Connecting Our City as part of the wider Trailblazer programme to invest in the local VCSE sector. This small grants fund supports that vision by strengthening community-led activity and helping people connect to meaningful opportunities and support within their communities – with a focus on neurodivergent community projects in York.
The fund has been co-designed with people with lived experience, including through the Neurodiversity and Mental Health Working Group, to ensure it is accessible and reflects community needs.
