The Stanley Smith (UK) Horticultural Trust was established in 1970 by Barbara de Brye, Stanley Smith’s daughter, in recognition of his passion for plants and gardening. Its purpose is to support horticultural projects for public benefit, primarily in the UK, by providing grants.

Who can apply
Funding is available for individuals, organisations, and institutions delivering projects in horticulture, gardening, or botany with a strong horticultural focus.
Types of projects supported:

  • New gardens or new garden developments
  • Restoration of gardens
  • Buildings, greenhouses
  • Plant study trips
  • Publications and exhibition materials
  • Research and plant conservation using horticultural techniques

Grants of up to £5,000 are available.
