The Wise Music Foundation provides financial support to people experiencing hardship, distress and illness, with a particular focus on children, people experiencing homelessness and people living in poverty.

The Foundation supports a broad range of charitable causes, which do not necessarily need to be music-related.

Who can apply?

The Foundation generally supports smaller charities with an annual turnover of up to £500,000.

The Foundation does not donate to the same charity more than once in a calendar year.

What size grants are available?

The Foundation’s average donation is around £1,500, with donations typically ranging from £500 to £5,000.

How to apply

All applications must now be submitted through the Foundation’s website.

Trustees meet quarterly to consider applications. The application deadlines are:

  • End of February – applications reviewed in March

  • End of May – applications reviewed in June

  • End of August – applications reviewed in September

  • End of November – applications reviewed in December

Due to the volume of applications, the Foundation may not be able to notify every unsuccessful applicant. If you have not heard from the Foundation within three months of applying, you should assume that your application has not been successful on that occasion.

The Foundation encourages organisations to reapply for future funding rounds.

What size grants are available?

From £500 to £1500
