The Kelly Family Charitable Trust provides grants to charities working with families to tackle problems affecting one or more family members and to help families work together as a cohesive unit.

The Trust’s funding priorities include:

  • Interventions that support families and help prevent the breakdown of the family unit, such as practical family support, relationship counselling and mediation

  • Support for families affected by sexual abuse, physical abuse, domestic violence, alcohol abuse or drug abuse

  • Support for prisoners and, in particular, their families during and after imprisonment

The Trust can support both core costs and project-based work, including capital and revenue costs. It also encourages applications from relatively new charities to help them become established.

Who can apply?

The Trust only funds organisations whose activities take place within the UK.

It prefers to support charities with an annual income of less than £500,000, although larger charities with pioneering pilot projects may also be considered.

Repeat applications can be considered where satisfactory progress reports have been provided.

Applications should be supported by annual accounts where available.

What size grants are available?

Grants are generally worth up to £5,000, although trustees will consider requests for higher amounts.
