Shamim Eimaan from Chat Adoption York takes time out to thank Jane Granville, York CVS’s Funding and Development Officer, for her help in the early collaborative work in setting up the organisation.
The support group for parents of adopted children and adult adoptees was set up a year ago after Shamim’s own experiences led her to feel isolated and unsupported through her adoption journey. That was over 30 years ago and now there is much more help out there and things have improved however, after she spent some time volunteering with Adoption UK, she still felt that there was a need for setting up her own local group. The group offers a space for finding support, sharing information and offering learning and guidance in a friendly and safe environment.
Upon the first stages of setting up the group, Shamim approached York CVS to find support in setting up the organisation, and Jane Granville, Funding and Development Officer, was on hand to do that.
“I wanted to send you a note of thanks for helping me set up Chat Adoption York which is a huge success.”
Shamim’s gratitude was greatly received by Jane.
