Support for Probation in North Yorkshire
A highlight on: Directions, a male-only service in North Yorkshire designed to support individuals involved with probation.
About Directions
Directions is commissioned by the Ministry of Justice and delivered in partnership with Foundation and St Giles Trust Partnership (SGT). Its primary goal is to assist individuals as they prepare to leave custody and reduce the risk of reoffending by helping them reintegrate into the community.
Key Services
Directions offers tailored 1-to-1 interventions and holistic support across four service categories:
- Family and Significant Others
- Lifestyle and Associates
- Emotional Wellbeing
- Social Inclusion
The number of sessions required is determined by the complexity of each case. Group sessions addressing common needs also play a role in promoting positive engagement.
Local Adaptations
Directions adapts its services to meet the specific needs of individuals engaging with the Probation Service, utilising pop-up hubs as required.
Peer Advisor Support
Former service users offer additional support as peer advisors, providing valuable insights and mentorship to those in the program.
Accessing Directions
To access Directions, referrals can be made through the National Probation Service.
