Part of the Humber and North Yorkshire Care Partnership, the Children and Young People Humber and North Yorkshire Trauma Informed Care programme has released a free 45-minute E-Learning training on Trauma Informed Care.
The aims of the training are to:
- Define trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and the potential impact of them on people.
- Understand trauma-informed practice and care and how we can respond more effectively to support people.
- Identify sources of support for yourself and professional colleagues.
The model of the Children and Young People Humber and North Yorkshire Trauma Informed Care programme has two main aspects, the first is delivering system change across the partnership to develop and embed a consistent Trauma Informed approach for all partners working with vulnerable Children and Young People (CYP) at risk of offending. Second, is to test new interventions (known as Test and Learn sites) which divert young people from becoming first time entrants into the Youth Justice System.
Please be advised that, as the topic is related to trauma, it is important to take time and be mindful of self-care. Although this relates to children and young people, it is also relevant to adults.
