Size of grants
The size of grants you can apply for depends on the the support you give and the area you live in.
Grants up to £2,000 – North Yorkshire, East Yorkshire and Hull
These grants can be used to provide emergency support in the form of food support, fuel support or purchasing essential items for distribution to local people. It could also be used to enable your organisation to provide activities, or create a warm and welcoming space, for people affected by the cost of living crisis.
Grants up to £5,000 – North Yorkshire, East Yorkshire and Hull
For these grants we would expect funding to provide emergency support to local people as outlined above (up to £2,000). For community groups playing a significant role supporting their community, up to £3,000 could also be used to support your core overheads.
Grants up to £10,000 – York
These grants are available for community groups in York playing a significant role supporting their community. For these grants we would expect some funding to be used to provide emergency support to local people as outlined above (up to £2,000) and up to £8000 could be used to support your core overheads and staffing costs associated with being a warm space.

Who can apply?
Groups applying should meet the following criteria
- Be a not-for-profit organisation
- Have a constitution/governing document
- Have at least 3 unrelated people on your management committee
- Have accounts (or if you are recently established a forecast for the year)
- Bank statement in the name of the organisation
As a general guide they consider a small charity to have an income of under £500k per annum.
