Bids are now open to the VCSE sector and will award successful applicants funding of between £30,000 and £600,000 per year.
HMRC have secured £5.5 million for a three year programme from April 2024 to March 2027, to fund voluntary and community sector organisations to help them to provide support to people who may need help with their tax affairs.
Bids can be submitted between 24 July and 21 August 2023 with successful organisations being announce in October ready for the new funding to start from 1 April 2024.
Successful organisations will receive funding to provide free advice and support to customers who:
- may face barriers in understanding their tax obligations and claiming their entitlements
- are digitally excluded from accessing HMRC services
- have any other difficulty in interacting directly with HMRC
