York RLFC Foundation is bringing its free Offload mental fitness programme back to the LNER Community Stadium this autumn, following the success of its first programme in York.
The next six-week programme begins on Wednesday 9 September 2026, with sessions taking place every Wednesday from 6pm to 7pm.
What is Offload?
Offload is a free men’s mental fitness programme developed by Rugby League Cares. It uses the values and culture of rugby league to help men improve their wellbeing, build resilience and develop practical ways to manage the challenges of everyday life.
The programme is for men aged 18 and over who may be experiencing stress, low confidence, anxiety or isolation, or who simply want to develop their mental fitness and wellbeing.
Offload isn’t a counselling service or clinical intervention. Instead, it provides a welcoming and supportive environment where men can come together, listen, learn from each other and develop practical tools to support their wellbeing.
A successful first programme
The first York-based Offload programme was well received, with participants highlighting the welcoming environment, quality of discussions and practical tools they took away from the sessions.
Feedback also highlighted improvements in confidence and wellbeing, as well as the value of connecting with others and recognising that they weren’t alone in the challenges they were experiencing.
Following this positive response, York RLFC Foundation is delighted to bring Offload back for new participants this autumn.
The programme will also launch with a special guest, with former professional rugby league player Ian Hardman joining the group to deliver the opening session.

The next six-week programme will take place on:
