Let’s help people save energy and money!
Monday 5 September 1:30-4:30pm on Zoom
York Energy Adive are hosting a free training session for staff and volunteers who support vulnerable residents in York.
With another energy price cap rise on the horizon, more people than ever will be struggling to keep warm and well this winter. In this training they will look at various ways in which you can either directly help clients reduce their costs of water and energy bills, or refer them on for further help. You may not be ordinarily dealing with such issues but the knowledge gained from the training will extend the range of support you can give to those in need (and may provide some tips for yourself too!).
You can book on just one or both sessions:
- 1:30-2:30pm Yorkshire Water: Saving water saves energy too but no-one should have to worry about paying for the water they need. For those struggling to pay, there’s immediate short term and longer-term schemes you can help clients apply for – from payment plans to capped charges and tailored arrangements if people need to catch up payments. Join us to find out more about the help available and ways to save water.
- 3-4:30pm Yorkshire Energy Doctor and York Energy Advice: learn about fuel poverty, the impacts of cold inefficient homes on health and wellbeing, basic energy efficiency and related issues, grants and schemes to help with winter bills, support available through York Energy Advice and how to refer a household for 1-2-1 advice.
York Energy Advice is a joint project between St Nicks and York Community Energy, funded by the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme and City of York Council. For more information contact us via the website or on 01904 922249.
