Tesco believes that strong communities start with helping children thrive. Through Stronger Starts, the focus is on building curiosity, confidence and enjoyment around eating well, supporting both physical and mental health and helping to create healthier futures.

Groups can apply for up to £1,500 to support projects that improve access to healthy food.
What can the funding be used for
Funding can support a wide range of activities, including:

Breakfast clubs or holiday provision

Cooking, food education or gardening projects

Providing fruit or healthy snacks for sports clubs

Projects that build life skills, confidence and wellbeing

Improving school or community food provision
Projects should show how healthy food will support the physical and mental health of children and young people.
How projects are chosen
Tesco colleagues help select projects to go forward for a local public vote. Customers then vote in-store using blue tokens, giving communities a direct say in how funding is shared between three local groups.
Who manages the fund
The programme is managed by Groundwork, which administers the funding across the UK.
