The Garfield Weston Foundation provides grants to UK-registered charities working across a wide range of charitable activities.
Funding can support core, project and capital costs, although applications cannot request funding for the salary of a specific post.
The Foundation offers two main types of grant:
- Regular Grants – for applications of under £100,000
- Major Grants – for applications of £100,000 or more
Who can apply?
The Foundation supports UK-registered charities working across a broad range of charitable activities.
For Regular Grants, organisations should complete the Foundation’s eligibility quiz before applying.
Major Grants are intended for larger organisations or projects. To be eligible, organisations must either have an annual income of more than £1 million, or total project or capital costs of more than £1 million.
What size grants are available?
Regular Grants are for applications of under £100,000.
Capital costs can be funded up to a maximum of £30,000.
For core and operating costs, the Foundation generally supports around 10–20% of an organisation’s total annual budget.
Major Grants are available for applications of £100,000 or more.
