Role description:
At York Rescue Boat, we are extremely proud and committed in supporting the community around river safety and aiding the public in water incidents including when requested by the emergency services to attend rescues and searches. York Rescue Boat is run purely from volunteers and all our funds come from fundraising, donations and grants.
Casual fundraisers are so important to the fundraising team as you are the glue that holds the events together, whether it could be baking so we have products to sell, helping prep for events or coming down to events so volunteers can have breaks and well-earned coffee.
As the Casual Fundraising lead, you will coordinate this group of volunteers as well as yourself helping at events.

● Report back to the Overall fundraising lead at least every other month at the Fundraising leads meeting and speak to the fundraising manager before making monetary or significant decisions within your team and the fundraising team as a whole.
● To lead your team by organising the casual volunteers to help at events, keeping an eye out on what will be needed at the next event and checking in with your team to let them know what is needed when.
● To ensure the volunteers in your group are helping out and committing, as although we don’t give a number of hours volunteered, we need to see commitment to be on this team and roughly a 30% attendance in whatever format within the casual fundraiser lead.
● To comply with the Charity Commission Charity fundraising - GOV.UK, Institute of Fundraisers https://ciof.org.uk/, The Fundraisers Code of Practice Code Fundraising Practice October 2019.PDF and York Rescue Boat policies and procedures.
