Role description:
IDAS (Independent Domestic Abuse Service) is seeking volunteers to assist with our fundraising activities and events. The role will be varied, involving attendance at events, generating fundraising ideas and providing administrative support. The successful candidate will be linked with our fundraiser to research and relay fundraising opportunities. They will attend community events, take donations and correspond with fundraisers and donors.

We are looking for someone who is computer-literate and have great interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating confidence and representing IDAS values when engaging with internal and external stakeholders.

The role offers the opportunity to volunteer within a specialist charity doing vital work to support victims and survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence. We offer thorough and on-going training to our volunteers and additional shadowing of our Practitioners.

Volunteer tasks:

Researching and identifying fundraising opportunities

Attend meetings with local team to update on fundraising opportunities

Developing local/community fundraising and awareness events

Attending fundraising events, communicating with donors and fundraisers and taking donations

Putting up posters and handing out flyers

Approaching individuals and organisations for sponsorship and donations

Keeping spreadsheets and event registrations up to date

We are ideally looking for volunteers who can dedicate 4 hours per week.

Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
Volunteers will have:

A high standard of communication skills, compassion, respect and understanding

A strong commitment to and understanding of confidentiality

Basic IT and organisational skills

An understanding of Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence is desirable

DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance is essential (can be provided by IDAS).
