Role description:
Fundraising Volunteers

Our fundraising volunteers play a vital role in helping York Mind support people experiencing mental health challenges across our community. By giving a little of your time, you can help ensure local people can access the support they need, when they need it most.

Fundraising volunteers help our charity in a variety of ways, including:

- Supporting the team at fundraising and community events

- Helping with public collections

- Representing York Mind at local events and in the community

- Assisting the fundraising team with administration and behind-the-scenes tasks

- Sharing information about York Mind and helping start positive conversations about mental health

You don’t need previous fundraising experience, just a friendly attitude and a willingness to get involved. Whether you can help occasionally at events or support us more regularly, every bit of time makes a difference.

Every pound raised helps support people in York to access life-changing mental health support.

Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
We’re looking for volunteers who are:

- Friendly and approachable

- Passionate about supporting mental health in the local community

- Reliable and able to commit to agreed volunteering activities

- Good communicators who are comfortable speaking with others where required

- Positive team players who enjoy working with others

- Willing to learn and represent York Mind in a respectful and professional way.

Please note that not all volunteer roles are public-facing. Some opportunities involve supporting behind the scenes at events or assisting the team with practical tasks.

No previous fundraising experience is required – we’ll provide guidance and support to help you feel confident in the role.
