Role description:
Purpose
The fundraising volunteer plays a vital role in supporting the mission and sustainability of Shine21 by helping to generate essential income through fundraising initiatives. This is an unpaid position, undertaken on a voluntary basis. The role involves developing creative fundraising strategies, building relationships with supporters, and representing Shine21’s mission in the community.
Duties include the following;
• Supporting the Shine21 fundraising team to create fundraising campaigns and events.
• Running stalls, marshalling fun runs, assisting with collections.
• Research and identify fundraising activities.
• Working with the team to ensure Shine21 has an activity diary of fundraising and promotional activities.
• Liaising with local businesses about our work and how they can help.
• Helping to promote local fundraising events.
• Representing and promoting Shine21 to the public in a positive light to build awareness and support.
Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
Person specification
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Personal and friendly
• Proactive working with the ability to use own initiative
• Effective organisation skills
• Ability to work in accordance with Shine21 policy documents.
• Passionate about promoting positive awareness regarding Down Syndrome and the Shine21’s mission and objectives.
• Keep the volunteers informed of how long Shine21 anticipates their role to continue for.
• Access to your own PC.
