Role description:
This summer we’re calling for everyone to be inspired by one of the world’s most magnificent cathedrals and create their own architectural designs. In celebration of the 800th anniversary of York’s patron saint, St Will, we are recreating the shrine in Lego form during Easter! Then from 21st July to 31st August 2026, our Lego Legends will engage members of the public including families with a “Build your own” Lego offer inside the Minster.
What you’ll do:
• Assist staff to open and close the “Build your own” space.
• Encourage visitors of all ages to be inspired and get creative with Lego in the Minster.
• Ensure the space is safe and tidy for visitors of all ages.
Skills and behaviours needed for the role:
You will:
• Have an empathy with the Mission of York Minster and the aims of the Chapter of York.
• Be passionate about sharing your knowledge and skills with the public including families and children.
• Be willing to undergo training relevant to the role, including Safeguarding training, and wear ID onsite.
• Foundation Safeguarding training and DBS check (Enhanced with Child Barring level).
